F.O.C.U.S.

F.O.C.U.S.
Without a doubt, if we’re looking to succeed at something, the first word of advice anyone better than us will give is ” to FOCUS“. Because once we have the focus, then the sky’s the limit from there on in. The problem is, most of us find it hard or difficult to focus and to stay focused.
Let me share a quick story that literally happened just minutes before I wrote this post.
F.O.C.U.S.
I was about to start this post like literally about to start. I had the computer on, I was on my WP dashboard about to start with my post. However, my mom rushed to me and called me. So I immediately ran towards her and asked what’s up.
She then pointed out to me that there was a snake in the house. I saw it and it was no joke. It was pretty big. We instantly called everyone in the house to help us catch it.
The only problem is… we lost our focus. We focused too much on calling everyone else so the snake got away. It hid so we had to find it. Kinda like finding a needle in a haystack.
So we focused on one goal and its to find and capture the snake. Eventually, we found it. It was hiding under our sofa and we had to flip it over to see the snake. It was coiled up in some wooden part of the sofa.
Crazy experience don’t you think? LOL
Well it happened and everyone was in their sleeping attire since it was around midnight here in the Philippines.
I’m just super glad that we got to catch the snake before any misfortunes happened. Some of us could’ve been bitten, our pet birds could’ve been eaten or it could’ve multiplied or whatever there. We got to catch it because we FOCUSED.
The same applies to success. If we focus. I mean literally LASER-FOCUS on something we want, we will get it.
Now you may wonder why I abbreviated focus in the title of this post. I did that because I’ve read a special meaning for focus. I’ve read it in the book “Midas Touch” by Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump. It’s a great book. It’s something worth picking up and reading. You’ll learn a ton of stuff from it. Anyways, back to focus.
Here’s what it means:
F.O.C.U.S.
F – Follow
O – One
C – Course
U – Until
S – Success
It’s simple right? Focus means we should “Follow One Course Until Success“. It couldn’t get any narrower or simpler than that.

Just like the picture above, most of the times, we confuse ourselves. The path we’re supposed to take is a straight one except sometimes, we ourselves are the ones taking the turns and the detours which waste our time and sometimes even make us lose focus.
The key to success is to follow one course until success. There is no other way. There’s one way and it’s up to us to choose which way we’d like to take. As long as we focus, we will eventually get to where we want to get.
The more time we spend walking around and acting like a tourist trying this, checking this out, looking at that and testing this, we’ll end up with time wasted and sometimes the common feeling of being “overwhelmed“.
So the message for today is to “Stop wandering around and FOCUS on one thing, get good at it and follow through. It may not happen right away, but it will happen. What am I referring to? I’m referring to SUCCESS. Patience my friends. Follow the road ahead and make things happen along the way. The small things do count. So don’t forget that.
Hope you enjoyed this post!

OMG Pete, I would have been freaking out. I’m deathly afraid of snakes. But great story to relate to this topic.
I had a blogging friend email me yesterday about a product that I shared with people who are eager to learn how to start attracting people to their business using Facebook. I know it’s a fabulous product although I’m not currently using it.
She wanted to know if I was using it. I told her I wasn’t at this moment because I was focused on implementing what I had learned from another course and until I got the results I needed, I wasn’t going to run and purchase something else.
She admitted not being focused enough and always wanting to purchase those new shiny things thinking she’s going to miss out on something. I told her to stay focused on one thing at a time and be patient. Your results will come with consistency.
I know it’s hard for a lot of people but to me it’s about what you want the most. For me, I’m focused on one project at a time.
Great post Pete, thanks for sharing this with us and I’m so glad you guys got that nasty snake.

Yeah it was pretty crazy. It wasn’t that big but it was pretty long.
Great to hear that Adrienne. I agree with you. We multitask, eventually something important will be left out. I’m like that as well. Focus on one thing at a time… one day at a time.
Thanks Adrienne! Thanks for dropping by!
Have a great weekend!

Hey Pete. Nice post i must say. and about the snake i just hate reptiles they just give me goosebumps. i would have fainted if i would have been there. Well i never knew if there was any abbreviation to the word FOCUS. But i do now. To be focused on something i think determination is also required then only we can reach our ultimate goal. have a great weekend.

Hey Pete, Well, I happen to be a snake lover! Had them as pets all my life until I married my husband. lol. The analogy is on target. When catching a snake one must be totally focused, because they do slither away quickly and can disappear right from your eyes. Glad you found it.
It is the same way in business. When we are focused on one thing, we cannot let it “slither” away. That can happen quickly. We must stay on course, and ignore everything else until the job is completed.
Loved the story!
