Got To Believe In Magic

Magic. What exactly does it mean? The Dictionary says: “Possessing or considered to possess mysterious powers”. In my opinion, ,magic means having the ability to turn nothing into something. We all have this ability. A lot of times, we just don’t believe we do. Magic is when someone starts with an empty website and less than a decade later, that website is worth $80 Billion. Magic is when a man and a woman get together and 9 months later, a new life is born.

Can anyone really create something magical? Absolutely! We all have the ability to create almost anything we strongly believe in. The magic happens over time…when we believe AND ACT ON OUR BELIEFS. This reminds me of the saying: “When we act the way we want to be, soon we’ll be the way we act.” We can literally create magic by planning, believing in our best-laid plans, then consistently acting on our plans. It doesn’t have to be a perfect plan. It just needs to be a reasonable one so we can get started moving towards the direction of our vision. Then, we can make corrections and additions along the way. Just believe in magic.

Is it important to have a vision? Absolutely! It’s not only important, it’s critical. It’s even biblical: “Without vision, we perish.” Remember that? It’s real. Everything great starts with someone’s unbelievable and unrealistic vision. Then, as that “unrealistic vision” gets consistently worked on, it slowly becomes real. That’s how magic is created. Believe in magic, it’s definitely real.

“To see is to believe.”

Really?! Is that a joke?! Do you really still want to hang on to that theory? When was the last time you saw air? Do you believe in oxygen? What’s the difference between believing in oxygen and believing in our dreams? The way I see it, the difference is within us…what we’re willing to believe in and pursue. I’m pretty certain whoever argues against the existence of oxygen will be picked up and carted off “somewhere” in a stray jacket…even if no one has actually seen oxygen up to this point in time.

“Let’s Look At Our Reality”

It isn’t Geometry,
It’s more like Psychology.
It isn’t about theory,
It’s about practical ability.

When our thoughts take over,
They tend to overpower.
Our lives we try to conquer,
With every ounce we muster.

Let’s live life to the fullest,
Shout and dodge the piercing bullets.
Enjoy each and every moment,
Because life is made of seconds.

Minute after minute,
Let’s make sure that we’re in it.
Don’t squander life’s hours,
And our GOD-given powers.

I hope you enjoyed this snap-shot,
Of life’s little what-not.
Minute after minute,
Hour after hour.

When we really think about it,
Life is what we make it.
Even if it sounds unrealistic,
We’ve got to believe in magic.
- PETE W. ZAFRA

What are you willing to do to create magic in your life? Are you willing to run naked in the snow if necessary (with shoes, of course!)? This is what we need to answer in front of the mirror, looking at ourselves straight in the eye, to start the process of what we call Revelation. For us to break free, we need to personally reveal to ourselves what we really want in our lives. This is where that old grade school cliche’ “Honesty is the best policy.” comes into play. We need to be completely honest with ourselves. At this point, it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks. What matters is what we think. After all, it’s our lives, right? After Revelation comes Visualization. Let’s visualize our ideal life, then write it all down as detailed as we possibly can.

“Never leave to memory what you can put in writing.” – Jim Rohn

Now, we have the road map. For magic to happen, we need to follow our own paths, not a path that someone else thought is right for us. It has to be our own. Following the path means taking consistent, daily action towards our vision. It’s this critical part of the process that will lead towards our destination…towards us creating magic.

Still don’t believe in magic?

Life is short. The ticking seconds go fast! Twenty, thirty, forty years…BAM!…just like that. If you want proof, ask your grandparent or someone who’s up there in age. Listen intently to what they say. We have to squeeze every ounce we can from life. Let’s consider ourselves fortunate we were given a chance by HIM to live life. No matter how challenging it may seem right now, let’s be thankful we’re alive! Jump for joy. Chase a frog. Save a fly. Kiss a loved one. Take a picture of a bird. Breath the warm or cold air. Love life. Live life! Life itself is magic. Our very existence is magic. Our hopes and dreams are magic.

We’ve got to believe in magic. Our life literally depends on it.
