Modern Day Slavery
Modern Day Slavery
Now what I’m gonna talk about today is Modern Day Slavery. It’s not just any type of slavery. It can definitely ruin someone’s life. It’s an issue that’s happening as we speak. I’m writing this post because I feel bad, sad and compassionate for everyone who is currently experiencing the Modern Day Slavery.
Now what do I mean by Modern Day Slavery?
Look at the picture above. You see one of those famous memes. Except this time he’s really sad and depressed for a straight out serious problem. The problem is: no one would hire him.
Let’s put out an example for this. Let’s say this guy just graduated college. He’s at the top of his class and graduated in business. So he’s out there looking for a job that would accept him. Next thing you know a month passes by and still no job, but there’s still his student loan debt that continues to grow every month. Now that is a serious problem I tell you.
Then he decides to head over to McDonalds or Starbucks and see if he can get a job there just to get things rolling. However, they won’t accept him too. Why? Well, training him to be an employee costs money and with his reputation, McDonalds and Starbucks see him treating this as a stepping stone so training him would only be a waste of resources.
Next thing you know he’s about to hit 30 years old and he’s close to finishing up his student loans. He’s working hard, very hard and he’s not getting paid enough to cover up the blood, sweat and tears he’s putting up. He’s still struggling and now he has a family to take care of.
It just saddens me. Really. I didn’t go to college because I didn’t want to be there. I hated it when people forcibly stuf information into my head just so I could call myself a student. I’d rather learn what I’m passionate about. Another issue is this… student loan debt. We all know the devastation this can cause.
Instead, I partnered up with my dad and ventured online to start up our own business. Everything I learned in school was pretty much useless in the entrepreneur’s world. I guess only basic math, language and science have been constantly applied, but the other stuff, lost in the back of my head. Everything I need to learn and master is around me. It’s all in the REAL WORLD.
Why am I sharing this? I’m sharing this because it’s a perfect example to show that there is another way.
It doesn’t have to be the common route that everyone takes. It doesn’t matter if you’re different. In fact, embrace that because it means that you’re special.
If you want to go to college, then by all means go. I’m not saying it’s bad. As long as you know what you’re doing and you’re responsible afterwards, then it should not be a problem. You don’t have to go now, school will always be there. It’s going no where unless the building catches fire. Instead, go to school when you actually have the money to pay for it.
What I’m really pointing out here is the fact that there is opportunity all around us. It’s just most people are too closed minded to acknowledge and embrace it. This is the 21st century. Times are changing, people are changing and systems are changing. What works 50 years ago may not work now. Life as we know it updates like a website every single second of our life.
If we don’t embrace these changes, then we’ll live a life of constant irritation and we’ll get left behind.
So the message here is to acknowledge the opportunities around you. There’s no need to worry because it’s there. You’re just not looking hard enough.
Modern Day Slavery is a joke.
You don’t have to succumb to it. You can do something about it.
However, if you want to avoid it. You must take action. Massive Massive action. Don’t complain just do it. Why? Because this is your life and I care about your future.
