Sean’s Thoughts For The Week Ahead-6
Sean’s Thoughts For The Week Ahead:
Something happened this week that caught Sean’s attention. He doesn’t see this kind of radical behavior much, so it affected him when he saw it. According to him, he saw a kid in his school throw his nice and expensive cell phone on the floor (it broke!), and was totally disrespecting his Mom in front of a lot of people. The Mom looked very embarrassed. When he got home, he told the story and asked 2 very simple and straight-forward questions?
(1) “Aren’t we supposed to be nice to our Mom?”
(2) “Aren’t we supposed to take care of our stuff?”
With the answers given to these 2 questions, his “Thought Of The Week” emerged. He said this is so important that it has to stand on its own. It can’t have 6 other quotes to go with it. Ok, Sean. It’s your call.
“Respect people and your things. If you don’t value your things, you will waste and lose a lot of money, and bad stuff will happen to you. Respect your parents and other people because if you don’t, people will not like you and you will lose a lot of friends… until you have no more left.”
Sean’s Mantra:
In case you missed Sean’s mantra, which we shared on our last post, we decided to share it again. In fact, we’ll share it every week for the new visitors. Check them out again. It’s not just a mantra that he reads, it’s who Sean is. It’s something he recites to himself in front of a mirror consistently on a daily basis that just pumps him up. Sean is very consistent with this. He reads this in the morning before he brushes his teeth, and at night after brushing his teeth before bed time.
1. I like myself!
2. I’m a winner!
3. I love myself!
4. Daddy loves me!
5. Daddy’s proud of me!
6. I’m handsome!
7. I’m a good boy!
8. I’m the best!
9. I’m happy!
10. My family loves me!
11. I’m very smart!
12. I’m cool!
Sean’s Video Of The Week:
In “Sean’s Video Of The Week” segment, we’re asking him to watch this video once a day for the next 7 days. Next week will be a different video. You can do the same if you’d like to take the journey with us. We’re both doing it ourselves with Sean too.
Like we said before, we already know what happens when kids are exposed to negativity. We’re strategically exposing him to positivity. We already know what will happen. We’re just excited to see how far and how fast he will go. He’s our live experiment and this blog is our laboratory. Let’s take the journey with our young man, Sean Zafra. I don’t think this has ever been done before. If it hasn’t been, then we’re excited and proud to be the first ones to do this. I know for sure Sean will thank us a lot for all of these.
I dare you to watch this video without dropping a tear…

Nice quote. There’s something incredibly simple yet wise about what a child says. I really like that you include them here.
It’s true too, if we break all our stuff, we won’t have any more things. If we mistreat our friends and family, don’t have them anymore either.
Nothing could be more true or important. Good job Sean!

Thanks Fred.
Sean is just a little boy, but what I’m impressed is he thinks and acts like a mature person already. I must admit Sean is a cool boy.

Its important not to expose kids to negative attitude because they might think that its okay because others are doing it so its important to explain it clearly to the kid.

Hi Julie. Unfortunately, we have no control over kids being exposed to negativity. Society is negative in nature. Watch the news or read the publications and you’ll see exactly what I mean. We have to consciously and proactively be positive in our ways. Studies state that by the time a child reaches 2nd grade, they’ve already heard about 200,000 NO’s and only 40,000 YESES. That’s what we’re up against. Sad and unfortunate, but very true. Thanks for your comment.

I think I can learn something from Sean. He’s such an interesting little boy. But first of all I need to have the mantra that is close to Sean’s
Awesome. Glad to see this kid is so sharp. You guys should be proud. Impressive.
Keep it up!

Wonderful video and a great lesson. I have a feeling Sean has already learned so many wonderful lessons in his life and will definitely learn a lot more that are just as important. What a smart young man, you should be so proud.

We sure are proud, Adrienne. Thanks.
Sean is beyond his years. He has great respect and maturity for his age. I have always said that children can be great teachers. I like their curiosity and never say never spirit.
Disrespect as a habit is bad. Something must be done to eradicate this. My girl sometimes throw her tantrums, which I do not tolerate at all. But she is doing it our of anger not really inner bad values. I guess management of emotions is key too.
Have not seen you for a while. Nice been back here to see your stuff.
BTW, please join my latest debate on personal development in schools. You were one of those younger ones exposed to PD through Jim Rohn and so on right? Would love your opinion here.
Cheers

Yup. That’s true, Radu.
Hey Pj, I got to 1.38 and the music had a lump in my throat. I nearly went at the letter, when mum explained the situation.
Funily enough my mum is deaf and worked at the school serving food. I had some kids take the mickey out of me but worse I witnessed some take it out of her, until I punched them and got into trouble for it FROM MY MUM as well as the school. I’ve never been embarressed by my mums situation, only her temper when she lost it.
Since my father ran off with another woman I’ve always been protective of my mum and have always tried to step up as a man, even from the early age of 10 I tried being the man beside her.
I’m now 47 and my mum is now in a care home due to vascular dementia and I visit her 3 or 4 times a week and spend the afternoons with her making her smile.
Sean is correct when he says about being nice to mum. Always love and respect your mother Sean, as i know you do
You’re raising a proper fine child there Pj with values and wonderfull ways that’ll help him become a proper man with respect for everyone that respects themselves.
That music is going around and around in my head Pj. Now, with a tear in my eye, I’ll wish you well.
Keep doing what you’re doing Sean
