23rd African Technology and Intellectual Property Day (OAPI): Minister Souleymane Diarrassouba makes the Government Statement

On the occasion of the commemoration of the African Technology and Intellectual Property Day (OAPI), the Minister of Trade, Industry and the Promotion of SMEs made the statement of the Government, on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at his Office in Plateau. The 2022 edition of this day revolves around the theme: ”Intellectual Property: lever for the industrialization of the diversification of the economy in Africa”.

To this end, Minister Souleymane Diarrassouba recalled that the celebration of the African Day of Technology and Intellectual Property is an opportunity for States, civil society and development partners to analyze policies, strategies and practices involving intellectual property and technology with a view to achieving diversification of the economy of different States.

This year, the celebration will be marked by two major events. This is the sixtieth anniversary of the Organization and the holding of the 9th edition of the African Exhibition of Invention of Innovative Business from November 16 to 19, 2022, in Abidjan.

These various events will be real boons for Côte d’Ivoire to raise awareness among inventors, researchers, other actors of creativity, industrialists and economic operators on the role played by Intellectual Property and innovation in technological development. and industrial.

The context of this year’s celebration is also marked by the will of the highest authorities of our countries to meet the challenges of the industrialization of the continent and the diversification of its economy. This expressed will will manifest itself on November 25, 2022, in Niamey in Niger, by a summit of Heads of State on the theme ”Industrialization and economic diversity”. noted Minister Souleymane Diarrassouba.
