AMT launches new technology and presents the digital factory of the future at Formnext 2022

One week away from Formnext, many companies are announcing the launch of new additive manufacturing solutions. The Frankfurt international event is the perfect opportunity to present the latest developments in 3D printing technologies, whether in terms of design, manufacturing, materials or post-processing. One of the leading companies showcasing its solutions from November 15-18 is Additive Manufacturing Technologies (AMT). Known for its PostPro brand dedicated to the development of automated post-processing systems for 3D printed parts, AMT is eager to demonstrate its potential to users at Formnext. But what will we be able to see on the company’s stand, and what new products will it be showcasing at the show?

With his stand D39 located in the central aisle of the lobby 12.1, AMT will be alongside HP and other key partners in the 3D industry. The space of almost 200 square meters will be transformed into what is intended to be the concept of “the digital factory of the future”, where they will present the future of post-processing for additive manufacturing. AMT’s booth will also include the PostPro DP Max cleaning system, several steam smoothing solutions, meeting spaces and a stage where presentations will take place daily. In addition, they will showcase the revolutionary end-to-end integrated post-processing system, called Digital Manufacturing System (DMS), and a revolutionary new polypropylene surface finishing system: PostPro SF PP. New products not to be missed!

AMT’s novelties at Formnext 2022

The main novelty presented by AMT during Formnext is the development of a new sustainable chemistry for the vapor smoothing of 3D printed parts. Called PostPro Pure, this patent-pending, FDA-approved chemistry will be available for AMT’s surface finishing (SF) systems starting in 2023. It’s a greener substitute that arrives several years later. tests and research by company scientists. This innovative solution is essential for AMT because it directly aligns with its environmental responsibility objectives.

PostPro Pure is an environmentally friendly chemical and sustainably produced. It is non-toxic, non-halogenated, easily biodegradable, non-polluting to the seas, food grade and is not subject to any regulatory restrictions. Dr. Konstantin Rybalcenko, Head of R&D at AMT, says: “ There is a clear link between additive manufacturing and sustainability, as it is an undeniably greener alternative to traditional methods. The additive manufacturing community as a whole is the movement leading to a more sustainable future for mass production, and AMT’s post-processing systems and solutions are at the forefront of these efforts.. Formnext attendees will be able to visit AMT’s booth to see the results of this surface finish on parts in a wide range of industries.

In addition, AMT will unveil an update to its surface finishing system specifically designed for polypropylene. Abbreviated as PostPro SF PP, the steam smoothing method has been re-engineered to become the primary surface finishing solution for polypropylene. PostPro SF PP has already been tested and validated by leading material producers in the industry, including BASF Forward AM, Ricoh and AM Polymers. The combination of material and post-processing has already been successfully applied in medical applications, such as prosthetics, proving its effectiveness in highly regulated industries. As for pure chemistry, AMT will present PostPro SF PP on its stand at Formnext, with a wall entirely dedicated to the exhibition of parts smoothed by this technology.

The company will also have the opportunity to present its end-to-end digital manufacturing system (DMS). As the name suggests, it is a system that allows the mass production of 3D printed parts in one place. In collaboration with HP, this method includes unboxing, depowdering, chemical vapor smoothing, sorting and inspection of parts. Visitors to the AMT booth will be able to see a live robotic demonstration of AMT’s complete post-processing workflow.

A unique opportunity to discover the factory of the future

Joseph Crabtree, CEO and Founder of AMT, comments: As the additive manufacturing industry moves towards producing end-use parts at scale, it is very important that we provide our customers with solutions that allow them to succeed on this journey. Our overarching vision is to make 3D printing a true manufacturing technology, and the concepts we are showcasing at Formnext show how far we have come in realizing our vision. We look forward to welcoming everyone to our booth next week.

As you can see, there are a lot of new things to discover on the AMT stand (12.1 – D39) during Formnext. In addition to discovering these automated post-processing solutions, users will also be able to attend interesting lectures given by the company’s experts on their own stage. Topics covered will include product developments, studies and a range of applications from various industries. The goal is to educate and inform attendees about the technology AMT has to offer, as well as demonstrate the power of PostPro in the additive manufacturing industry. Finally, AMT will organize its second networking event at the Chinaski Club on Wednesday evening, November 16. If you would like to attend, you can register here.
