Cris and Le Mans, it’s over

Cris will not have succeeded in resisting a particularly painful week. While he had swept away rumors of his resignation, the 45-year-old Brazilian coach is no longer the Le Mans coach this Sunday morning.

The former defender of OL and Seleçao remained on a bitter elimination in the Coupe de France against Fougères, resident of N3 (2-2, 7-8 on pens), last Saturday then a loss in the Championship against Cholet (1 -2, Friday). Another unfavorable result for a team built to play for the first places.

The news was announced to the players

Le Mans is today in the red zone, in 13th place in the National, the first of the six (!) relegated places. And the Sarthois club has only three successes in eleven matches (for 3 draws and 5 defeats). Cris had lost part of his locker room. His players were notified this Sunday morning of the departure of their coach.

The Le Mans club was already coming out of a disappointing past season, ending in 10th place. Cris was named head of the team in the summer of 2021.
