FOCUS TECH – Find each week a focus on a technology, an app or an innovative start-up.

FOCUS ➡ According to the latest study by the Federation of e-commerce and distance selling (Fevad), 91% of French people have already purchased a second-hand item. In this context, Thomas Gounot and Arthur Rocle created in 2021 Campsider, a platform dedicated to second-hand outdoor sports equipment which makes it possible to equip yourself on average 55% cheaper compared to new. The two founders from Lyon and lovers of the Alps wanted to spread the circular economy further by offering a turnkey solution to companies wishing to enhance their used equipment.

Incubated within the Outdoor Sports Valley accelerator in Annecy, Campsider managed at the beginning of the year to complete a round of funding of 2 million euros with business angels. The start-up has developed partnerships with players in the Outdoor sector such as ZAG, a ski brand based in Chamonix. At the same time, Campsider has also been organizing charity sales of second-hand equipment since last March for the benefit of associations such as Mountain Riders (sustainable development in the mountains) and other projects supported by its athlete ambassadors such as Vaincre la mucoviscidose and Biodiversity Conservation Colombia. .
