Google will make reminders and to-do lists compatible – ICT news

The ‘Tasks’ app will soon operate on different Google platforms: from Gmail and Calendar to Google Assistant.

In itself, it’s strange that it didn’t exist yet, but Google announces in a press release that it will now integrate Google Tasks, the app that allows you to create reminders for yourself, Google Assistant and various G Suite apps, such as Calendar and Gmail. The idea behind it is that you can carry a reminder through the whole system.

It should also make it easier for you to compile to-do lists based on the reminders you already had that day. Users would finally receive global task management for all their Google-related apps.

Tasks

Throughout this system, Tasks will serve as the central hub. For example, you can add Gmail messages to your task list. You can tell Google Assistant that the yellow bin needs to be taken out that morning, after which the app will add it to the tasks to be performed. Reminders in your Google Calendar will also end up in Tasks. So what Google is doing here, after quite a while, is making its different platforms compatible, so you can take a callback from one platform to another, which was absolutely not possible so far.

Google promises to roll out the changes ‘in the coming months’. This will initially be done in the form of ‘opt-in’, before it becomes normal thereafter.
