Influenza: the epidemic is declared in two metropolitan regions

The seasonal flu epidemic has now been declared in two metropolitan areas.

Public Health France (SPF) announced on Wednesday that the seasonal flu epidemic has now been declared in France. The health agency announces that “Brittany and Normandy have gone into epidemic.

In its epidemiological report devoted to the disease for the week of November 21 to 27, SPF mentions an “early increase in influenza indicators”.

Some regions are moving into the “pre-epidemic phase”: Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Grand Est and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur for the week concerned and Centre-Val de Loire, Hauts-de-France and Île-de-France, since mid-November.

The flu epidemic continues overseas, adds the health agency, particularly in Martinique, Mayotte and Reunion.
