LG announces the UltraGear 45GR95QE, its first curved monitor with OLED technology.

LG announced one of its new gaming monitors, dubbed UltraGear, late last week, which it will showcase next weekend at IFA 2022, an annual technology trade show in Berlin.

This monitor is the LG UltraGear OLED 45GR95QE and it is the first curved monitor of the brand that bets on an OLED panel which has a size of 45 inches, a curvature of 800R and an ultra-wide aspect ratio of 21:9 with a resolution WQHD of 3440 x 1440 pixels, accompanied by a refresh rate of 240 Hz, a response time of 0.1 milliseconds gray to gray, without detailing for the moment what type of technologies it will have, although it will likely incorporate both G-Sync and FreeSync.

In terms of brightness and colors, the display offers 98.5% DCI-P3 space coverage and HDR 10 certification, as well as Anti-glare and Low Reflection technologies to prevent glare or reflections in brightly lit rooms.

“Our new LG UltraGear OLED gaming monitor elevates the gaming experience with its curved display, built-in anti-glare solutions, and ultra-fast 2.5GHz refresh rate.
240Hz, which once again takes the gaming experience to the next level,” said Seo Young-jae, senior vice president and director of LG’s IT business unit.

Ready for PC, PS5 and Xbox X/S Series

In terms of connectivity, the UltraGear OLED Gaming Monitor 45GR95QE has 2x HDMI 2.1 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, while for the PC we have a DisplayPort 1.4, as well as a mini-jack audio output and three USB ports 3.0.

LG has so far given no release date or price for this monitor, which is expected to arrive for this year’s Christmas campaign.
