This new material, the thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) ESTANE® 3D TPU M88Awould be available under a selective availability program.
ESTANE 3D TPU M88A is a soft and flexible polymer that has undergone development and testing in facilities Avid Product Development and Advanced Materials by Lubrizol. Prototal AB provided support in the development of this polymer solution.
The material would allow for more flexible TPU-based lattice patterns that can be dyed – rather than coated – to provide a wide range of colors, resulting in more vibrant end colors than other TPU parts. . The new material is used in prosthetics and orthotics, and is ideal for a wide range of consumer, industrial and automotive applications with great customization possibilities.

The upcoming availability of ESTANE 3D TPU M88A from Q1 2023 will allow additive manufacturing companies to efficiently target a variety of end-use parts by taking advantage of HP’s advanced 3D printing technology. The new material allows a much faster print time, 45% less than Lubrizol’s TPU currently on the market. Applications can be easily unpacked at room temperature, allowing free-time production runs.
