Mastercard welcomes 7 blockchain and Web3 companies to its startup incubator

The payment giant Mastercard is increasingly involved in the blockchain ecosystem, supporting seven Web3 startups in a new promotion of its incubator.

Mastercard supports blockchain startups

The interest of MasterCard for the blockchain is well established and the new beneficiaries of its Start Path incubation program are an additional example. Indeed, the new promotion of this support program for start-ups, unites seven cryptocurrency-related companies.

The activities of these different players in the ecosystem are varied. For example, while Uptop focuses on the relationship between brands and their customers, Quadrata instead offers decentralized digital identity solutions, with an approach aimed at secure the data they contain as much as possible.

For its part, Digital Treasure Center specializes in various payment solutions related to cards and cryptocurrencies. It is therefore a heterogeneous selection of Web3 projects based all over the world, whether in the United States, Singapore or Colombia.

A rich support program

Mastercard Start Path was created in 2014 and has already supported more than 350 companies in 40 countries around the world. Among them, Mastercard very regularly supports companies linked to the blockchain and cryptocurrencies:

“These companies are making strides to bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3 and meet consumers where they are today. We welcome a new cohort of startups to facilitate access to digital assets, build communities for creators, and empower people to innovate for the future through Web3 technologies. »

For six months, the companies selected will thus benefit from the expertise of the Mastercard teams with a dedicated team. This program should also make it possible to open new doors to these projects, thanks to the many connections it allows.

The international payment giant thus shows that beyond the technical solutions it can offer in terms of blockchain, it also knows how to offer springboards for young companies in the ecosystem to accelerate their development.
