Speaking today (3 November 2022) at the Prague Conference on Cybersecurity, NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană said that a battle of ideas is currently being played out between the countries free democracies and authoritarian regimes, especially in the field of technology. He added that NATO and Allies are committed to the principles of responsible use, which reflect their values and are consistent with human rights.
Mr. Geoană said: “This is where we differ from our competitors. And that is why it is so important to develop standards governing the development and use of new technologies. Our ambition is for NATO to become a benchmark for the ethical use of new technologies in the field of defence. »
The Prague conference is part of the event “A Secure and Innovative Digital Future in the EU”, organized by the Czech National Agency for Cybersecurity and Information Security.
