Ripple Motion deploys its data management technology in Guadeloupe

Associated with the Nantes wifi operator Qos Telecom, Ripple Motion was selected following a call for tenders from the Guadeloupe region to implement its data management platform, as part of the creation of the community’s territorial wifi network. A project involving the installation of 1,600 connection points on which the Saint-Herblain company is grafting its technology for anonymizing and securing user data. A solution that also provides real-time performance management and system monitoring, while producing operating statistics. “It is an architecture that we are already deploying with several customers and that we are specifically adapting to the wifi network of Guadeloupe”, indicates Pierre Auclair, co-founder in 2008 of Ripple Motion.

8 million downloads for Essence & CO

Employing twenty people for a turnover of nearly €2 million, Ripple Motion bases this technology on the know-how born from the development of its first application, Essence & Co. Active since 2008, this fuel price comparator allows the company to provide a continuous service, capable of responding to several thousand requests per second. “Behind Essence & CO hides a complex system that crosses data flows on a very large scale in real time, the result of intense work over more than 10 years,” emphasizes Pierre Auclair. Since its launch, Essence & Co has totaled more than 8 million downloads. The application is experiencing new success with the rise in prices and the shortage of fuel in France. In October 2022, the service thus counted more than 6.3 million users.
