Extreme performance for optimal gaming experience

Featuring Samsung’s latest V-NAND technology and a new proprietary controller, the 990 PRO series offers one of the fastest speeds currently available with the PCIe 4.0 interface[3]. Sequential read and write speeds can reach up to 7450MB/s and 6900MB/s respectively, while random read and write speeds reach up to 1400K and 1550K IOPS respectively[4]. With up to 55% random performance improvement over the SSD 980 PRO, the SSD 990 PRO is particularly suited to high-volume gaming as well as creative and productivity tasks.

High-performance NVMe SSDs are also essential to take full advantage of the latest gaming consoles. Using NVMe technology, the 990 PRO SSD delivers faster loading speeds on PC and consoles for a more immersive gaming experience. Limited energy consumption and reliable thermal control

Built on a low-power architecture, Samsung’s new controller dramatically improves SSD power efficiency: up to 50% compared to SSD 980 PRO[6]. The 990 PRO SSD is also equipped with a nickel coating on the controller and a heat distribution label on the disk for reliable thermal management. Likewise, Samsung’s Dynamic Thermal Guard technology keeps the drive temperature at an optimal level.

The heatsink-equipped version of the 990 PRO SSD offers an extra level of temperature control and is equipped with RGB lighting to give it even more style.

The SSD 990 PRO will be available in France from the end of September and in two versions, 1TB and 2TB[8]. A 4TB will be available from the first half of 2023.
