The Genesis G90 luxury sedan was officially launched in the market in the first half of 2022. The armrest console case at the rear of the latter, adapting to the era of COVID-19, is equipped with UV-C LED lamps to disinfect passengers’ personal belongings. Seoul Semiconductor’s Violeds technology is applied to these UV-C LED lamps. Depending on the model, 6 to 12 LED lights are installed, eliminating up to 99.9% of harmful germs (E.coli, Staphylococcus aureus and pneumobacilli) present in personal belongings within 10 minutes of closing the lid.

Violeds is a patented solution developed and massively applied for the first time in the world by Seoul Viosys, a subsidiary of Seoul Semiconductor. It prevents the growth of germs and bacteria thanks to UV LEDs. According to 2021 data from Omdia, a market research firm, Seoul Viosys ranks 1erworld leader in UV LED technology.
