Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro look great, especially in photos, enough to compete with Apple or Google?

Xiaomi has collaborated with optical specialist Leica to design the camera for its two mobiles. The Xiaomi 13 Pro has three sensors of 50 Mpx each. The main module, a 1-inch Sony IMX989 with 1.6µm pixels, has an aperture of f/1.9 and benefits from particularly advanced optical image stabilization.

It’s paired with an f/2.2 and 14mm ultra-wide-angle sensor that supports autofocus and a macro mode. The telephoto lens is improved over the previous generation and offers up to 3x optical zoom, an aperture of f/2.0 and Leica Floating Lens technology that allows a close focus distance of just 10cm.

Xiaomi 13 is logically a little less well-equipped, but we remain at the top of the range. Its main sensor of 50 MP, f/1.8, 23 mm, 1/1.56″, 1.0 µm and Hyper OIS is accompanied by a 12 Mpx ultra-wide angle with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 10 Mpx, f/2.0 telephoto lens , OIS and optical zoom up to 3x, a nice development compared to the Xiaomi 12.

All this bodes well, although the software processing will have to hope for results worthy of a Pixel or an iPhone.
